| Please help info needed. I am new to this site and am looking for some help. I have a 2 year old yorkie who is 62 days pregnant today. We have looked into alot of information however this is her 1st litter. We have taken her temperature since 26th feb, but the last 2 days her temp has been down to 36.5 +/- a little but staying below 37. Earlier today (about 11am) she had a clear/milky discharge which i believe to be the first signs of labour. She has been in and out of her whelping box, she has eaten a little bit of food and drinking fine. About 12.30 she started to have a bit of green discharge which over the last few hours has been getting more. Could you please let me know if there is any advice you can give us on what to do next and if you think she may have them sooner rather than later. Many thanks in advance Sarah |

| hi Sarah I would give your vet a ring and ask his advice. My Lou Lou had a pup just over a week ago ( first time Midwoof for me). He did say to me that she may pass black/green discharge prior to the whelp. From what I have read on the internet some say its normal, others say not... Good luck and keep us updated Shirl |

| Pippa thanks for your reply shirl. I did ring the vet and then took her down. He said she is fully dilated and gave her an injection to help things along quicker. He told me that the jab should make her have a puppy in 2 hours |

| Good call green always means infection, so I was told. That oxytocin usually makes them contractions start within 30 minutes. Good luck on your whelp hope everything goes smoothly.
