| Help needed, is this labor??? Hi everyone, I am hoping for some advice. My Tinkerbell is pregnant with 2 pups and yesterday she was a bit mopey and very clingy, I couldn't leave the room without her following! Then I took her temperature at it was 98.20. A short while after that she was sick! I stayed up with her all night and feel so sleep deprived right now!! Lol her rear started to swell which makes her walk a bit funny bless her and one of the things I noticed in the early hours this morning was how active the pups were, it's like they were playing tag obviously with not much space to run so it was a bit mad! Is all of this normal.??? Is she in labor? No waters have broken but it's just the swelling on her rear that made me think 'This is it'!!! Please help and let me know what you think cos So tired right now but she's sleeping .... X |

| Sorry, I don't know.....I've only ever given birth to 'skin kids' Is your vet on stand-by just in case? It might be worth giving him/her a call? Sally + Harry x |

| Our vets number is next to the phone This is her first litter and she's still sleeping (lucky her) lol plus I haven't seen any milk yet, but I have read that could be normal as its her first litter and some dogs don't show any milk until they have whelped. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Yes, those are all signs of impending labor. I assume she's due? Has she eaten anything? Loss of appetite can also mean puppies will come soon. From the sounds of things I'd bet you will be having puppies within the day or tomorrow. Stay home with her, give her a quiet/calm place to be and watch her closely for more signs. Good luck to you and Tinkerbell. Keep us posted!

| No, she has not eaten much, if anything today she just keeps sleeping. There's been a tiny bit of milk I have noticed now so I'm guessing maybe tonight?? I will keep you updated |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I would say she is very close. The lack of appetite is always a sure sign with my girls with whelps happening within about 12 hours. But all dogs are unique beings and not all will have the exact same signs. I've read of some that keep fooling their owners for days & days. Hopefully that's not the case for you; better make sure you have a fresh pot of coffee to keep yourself awake for as long as she needs you.

| Hi, Stayed up with her all night and absolutely nothing happened!! Calling the vets for advice when they open, will take her temperature again at about 8.00am see what that's like. About 4.00 this morning she was her usual self, she was eating, having some water, barking or growling at random noises outside lol so I have no idea what to think. |

| Took her temp again and its 97.35 f!!!! She's still very sleepy. Mind you, so am I!!! Lol seems bright enough in herself just sleepy. She still barked at the postman Now her temp has reached 97.35, how often do you all think I should take it now?? Thanks for all the advice, makes me feel better. And yes, this is both mine and Tinkerbells first litter. This is the only litter she will have. And I'm not selling the pups!! If she was having 6 there might be a problem but she is having 2 so they will both be mine too X |
