| Most likely your female is running a lower temperature because of low blood sugar. If she is off her food that could explain the lower temp. Try to get your girl to eat more if possible. What are you feeding her? How big is your little girl? The clear sticky mucus is normal. Often when a female gets really big with pups she is unable to lick her vulva so it is important for us to trim the hair on the vulva and to keep it clean.

| I wish we could help but you are not answering our questions. I greatly suggest you take her to a vet. Her life can be in danger.

| How much does she weigh? Some yorkies are prone to pre-eclampsia which can be life threatening. If you have concerns then you really need to talk to a vet. She needs some quality dog food or if she won't eat then some scrambled eggs or chicken and rice. Also if she is not eating a little Nutri-cal would be good for her if you have it. Have you ever helped deliver puppies before? There is so much to learn because so many things can go wrong and the life of the momma and her babies can be at risk. I pray everything goes okay.

| 97.4 temperature dropped. Your female probably should deliver in 24 hours after her temperature dropped. Sometimes they drop twice. You should measure her temperature and watch |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I suggest you take her into the vet for Xrays although it is a bit early - but still you can combine the Xray visit with a wellness check for her. you absolutely need to know how many and if her pelvis is wide enough to deliver freely. Big dogs are quite different to the toy breeds. And even with my big dogs I get the Xrays done, and measure head to pelvic width.

| First off I don't suggest red peppers for any dog but more over for a whelping bitch. Your girl needs food period, if she isn't eating what you are offering her then offer something else. Boiled chicken, raw hamburger both of which can be mixed with cooked white rice boiled in chicken broth. Whatever it takes to get her to eat something healthy. I agree with the person who said her temp could be low because of low blood sugar. You really should be talking with your vet since you have never delivered puppies before. As it was stated there is a big difference between toy breeds and large breed dogs.

| No xray ???? So you will know for CERTAIN when she is finished whelping????? Please tell me why in the world one opts not to get xrays on their pregnant dogs, so they will KNOW what they have....so they will KNOW if one is sideways, blocking the birth canal....so you can actuall measure heads and KNOW if momma is going to be able to even have these babies???? I am just curious........ |

| Have you called your vet's office to discuss this with them? I'm not a breeder, but if I were in your shoes, I would not leave this girl for one minute today or tonight. And I would be standing in the vet's doorway when they open in the morning, if not getting her ready to go to an emergency vet. Prayers for your girl.
