| favorite food for pregnant mom? A friend inherited a pregnant chihuahua. Not a yorkie but you' re the experts. He vet said to feed her puppy food but said it didn' t matter. I feed my puppy canine caviar but I don't no about feeding a mom. No extra calcium is what I remember most. She's due in about 3 weeks. |

I usually keep some chicken leg quarters on hand and also some beef liver and alternate between the 2 (I boil the chicken and liver). The chicken should be de-boned and skinned before feeding it. The liver is very nutrient dense but can be a little rich for some, especially if fed every day. Your friend should feed her about 1 1/2 to 2 times her normal feeding at this time. The girl may not have a big appetite for a lot at one time so it may have to be broken down into several smaller meals.
