| Not Eating My sisters pregnant female isn't eating much. She won't touch the dry kibble, and barley touches it when it's mixed with scrambled eggs, cottage cheese or pumpkin. We don't know what to do. She's about 33 days along. |

| Have you tried putting a little canned food in the kibble. And by the way the kibble should be puppy food

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Loss of appetite is perfectly normal at this stage of a dogs pregnancy. My girls have always done the same thing for nearly two weeks! It drives me crazy with worry but everything has always been fine in the end. For those days that she is off her food, I try most anything that I can, just to get them to eat something. You can also give her a doggie multi-vitamin to replace nutrients that she is missing from her lack of appetite. At about 6 weeks along, her appetite will return in full force. As her belly gets bigger & full of growing pups, you will need to feed her less at each feeding, but more often during the day. Or just free feed if you can, leaving dry food available at all times. Good luck!

| Thank you, I was very worried about her. We've tried the wet food and she is on puppy food. We haven't gotten multivitamins though. Where can you get them? |

I myself never give my Yorkies vitamins during pregnancy. I've been told that they can produce larger pups and then cause difficulty during whelping for smaller breed dogs. I could be wrong thou and if anyone can provide info on why she should or shouldn't it would be helpful. If she is healty and doing well than dont change anything. Could be that the pups are now getting bigger and are moving around causing her discomfort.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I had not heard or experienced that about taking vitamins during pregnancy producing bigger puppies. This was the first (of three) pregnancies that I used them with Hannah due to her loss of appetite. Her pups this litter were no bigger than with the other two when she did not take them. We used Pet Tabs Original Formula vitamins found at Pet Smart.....recommended by our vet.
