| Finding a Breeder Hi all, I'm looking for a reputable breeder in Ontario (near Toronto). Here are some that I've found -- I've talked to all of them and they all enthusiastically encouraged me to come for a visit (by the way, is this something you do before you're even ready to buy?) and seemed very nice and knowledgeable. Anyway, here they are- thoughts? 1. Shoalcreek Yorkies - Shoalcreek Yorkies Page 2. Cinderella Yorkies - » CINDERELLA YORKSHIRE TERRIERS HOME PAGE 3. Shanerson Yorkies - Shanerson Yorkshire Terriers Thanks a lot! |

| I don't know anything about any of these breeders, but I got my Katie from a breeder in Aurora. She came from Ilona Rodionova, Rigair Yorkshire Terriers. Katie is a retired breeder who I got her in May at the age of three. If you saw how loving, confident, friendly, and athletic Katie is, you would know the love, training, and care she gives her pups. I am attaching a couple threads written about Ilona, a link to her website, and some photos of Katie. Katie is Rigair Yabba Dabba Doo (Kate). Rigair Yorkshire Terriers CKC Reg. We breed only top quality yorkshire terriers CH Rigair Yabba Dabba Doo (Kate) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...va-review.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/agi...nce-champ.html

Look also to the health guarantees and the health tests they do on their Yorkies. Lisaly also posted a link to a thread I wrote after 6yrs of knowing the breeder I got Razzle from. Razzle is in my less than humble opinion a superlative Yorkie....Why? Because he has extraordinary temperament, smart as a whip, athletic, loving, and just a great dog. He is also a Ch of two countries and a Grand Champion. Now having said all this; I evaluated two litters of her puppies last week. All are either spoken for, or she will keep for a few months longer; 3 show potentials in 6 dogs.....!!!

| There are very reputable knowledgable long time breeders that are not members of CYTA that I would not hesitate to refer someone to. They have their reasons for not being a member for those that aren't as I have mine. People I can recommend off the top of my head are Judy Van Dusen of Judawn Yorkies Laurie Hunter Nicnak Yorkies And yes, someone who thinks maybe they want a yorkie I sometimes do have them come out as a prospective home for a pup now or in future if they have impressed me enough via emails, reference, phone conversations. Most of the time I don't have someone come to see me unless I do have something they might be interested in and I have screened them. sometimes I do understand people just are not sure if this is the right breed for them. One good way too that I do if there is a dog show coming up and I know there will be Yorkies there, tell them to go to the show meet the dogs and breeders and perhaps they will discover it is actually something else that would be more suitable. |

| I've been following your other thread. I hope that you're able to accommodate the appropriate time for a small dog, especially a Yorkie. I also agree with the above statements. Please take a look at their health guarantees/tests and look to see if the breeders are CKC (Canadian) members. Although this is not an absolute guarantee, they're more likely to follow the agreed upon recommendations of birthing/raising/releasing puppies than a backyard breeder, which are all too common. Good luck!!

| I am Cinderella and all the breeders you mentioned belong to the Canadian Yorkshire Terrier Association. All will provide you with references if you request them. |
