Yorkie Talker | Aghhhh! I'm going crazyyyy! Help me breeders!!! Okay, it's me again. The puppies are gaining weight fine but they cry and nurse a lot as if they're not ever full. They'll cry and then fall asleep so I don't know if they sleepiness out weighed the hunger I don't know. Mama is dried up from them latching every 15 minutes so now is where the bottles come in but they refuse to bottle feed! They'll push and kick and cry then they suck and stop completely and seem to fall asleep. I wouldn't know because they're eyes are still closed to me they're sleeping all the time. I don't know what to do. Mama needs time to reproduce but they seem to always want to be sucking. I will walk in and they'll be all spread out sleeping but once they feel mama it's like a zombie apocalypse! Is this normal? How should I get them to latch to the bottle! Only one (my little boy Leonardo) seems to latch and get his round hard pear belly! Others have round bellys but never like Leonardo. What do I do? How do I get mama to lactate more? I broke down canceled my appointments and brought a baby sitter to watch my 3 month old caring for these puppies. I sleep on a box spring making sure they live to the next day. I'm slowly cracking. I need all the help I can get, please. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | she might need more milk, give her fenugreek, she needs to produce more milk, make sure she is eating and drinking LOTS, you might have to seringe feeding them to supplement mama's milk.. try the fenugreek and see if that works for her.. you can buy it at walmart or a vitamin supply , My mentor opens a capsule and mix it with a scrambled egg or soft can puppy food for her girls. hugs, |

| Like I said in my other post, you need to be supplementing those babies with formula....if they wont bottlefeed, you need to be tube feeding...you need to give 1cc/oz of body weight, and you need to be doing this every 2-3 hours, AROUND THE CLOCK!!!! You need to very carefully watch this momma for eclampsia.... Welcome to the world of breeders, very labor intensive and fraught with heartache........... Yorkie Talker | They're actually thriving well today. They are not crying as much after I supplemented mama with scrambled eggs, then following with Science Diet Puppy canned food with a little bit cottage cheese and sprinkle of fenugreek they actually seem to really get some milk cause before they used to suck and pull trying to force milk out and sometimes even cry and now they really seem to just be swallowing calmly sucking... I already have an 8 ouncer! |

| Just watch momma very closely....you have large babies, a large litter, and your momma is already dragging down. If I was in YOUR shoes, I would be supplementing those babies so they will give that poor momma a chance to regroup. They are beating her down and while the momma can certainly benefit from supplementation, those growing babies are the ones that need to be taking it easy on momma. Be sure you know the early signs of eclamsia, and are prepared to correct it, or you will loose your momma. |
