| Weaning tips? We have 3 little girls about to be four weeks old in 2 days, so it's time to start weaning while I have a four day weekend. Does anyone have some suggestions? I've been researching for a week and there's just to many websites with different info, but none specific to small puppies. Thank you |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | that's because every breeder has their own way of weaning, I for example start at about 4 weeks, with a mix of goat's milk, soft canned puppy food and grinded puppy kibble, I give them that gruel 3 to 4 times a day, in the meantime mama still comes in and let's them feed too.. I do this for about 2 weeks at 6 weeks mama does not want to feed them anymore so I start putting an onesie on her so the babies only feed before bed for a week, by the time they are 8 weeks they are wean off mama and eating the gruel only, by the time they are 10 weeks they are eating puppy kibble and soft puppy food, no more goat's milk, and by the time they are 12 weeks, they are eating 3 times a day the kibble and soft food. by the time they are 16 weeks I instruct the parents to start reducing the soft food and feed puppy kibble 3 times a day, until a year old, when they are switch to adult food twice a day.. | Thank you so much for that advice! Every new stage with the puppies has brought it's own sense of excitement, it's been the most beautiful experience to watch mommy take care of her babies and seeing them grow and thrive under her care |
