week puppy and liver recipe. A rescue has a small puppy that is very weak. They are departly trying to save her. I mentioned this recipe and they wanted to know how young can they give this liver recipe to a pup. any other suggestions would be great. They are hydrating her every 30 min. and keeping her warm but anything would greatly be appreciated.

This is my formula that I adjusted from Leerburg's formula....I have supplemented many babies over the years with this formula....I had a nutritionist calculate the calories for me...1cc = 16 calories. I have not lost a puppy since I started giving this formula. 8 oz Just Born with Colostrum 4 oz Pedialyte 1 raw egg yolk 3 tbsp. Dr. Miller's Nutra Drops I warm up an oz of this formula at a time, and to the WARM formula, I add 1 teaspoon of whole live cultured yoguart.....(not HOT formula, or it will kill the live cultures in the yoguart.) Mix this formula up in a covered jar and keep refridgerated....I use it for 5 days, then discard and make fresh. I give 1cc/oz of body weight, starting from day 1 of birth...usually I tube feed my weak babies, that way I know for certain how much they are getting, and can follow their weight gain very closely. I start feeding every 2 hours, around the clock...after 2-3 days, I will go to every 3 hours, then every 4 hours....you will see a dramatic improvment in the enfant! THANK YOU LEERBURG FOR THE BASIS FOR THIS FORMULA!

Thank you very much for the replies. Unfortuntantly the puppy passed away before I posted this and was not aware of that fact. We are all so sad for this poor little Angel. She fought as long as she could!
