| Can you please refer me to a reputable ethical breeder in California Hello Everyone... I'm looking for help with some referrals to breeders in California.. I live in Sacramento, but don't mind traveling a little to get a healthy puppy. My husband bought me a Yorkie for my birthday 2 years ago.. We thought that we did our homework by asking the 'breeder' good questions... However, after a horrible experience including a very sick puppy and no refund policy, we started investigating more to see what options were available.. We called the 'breeder' continuously and she finally took the sick puppy back but wouldn't refund our money, so we thought if we selected the oldest puppy she had (17 weeks old) that we could somewhat be a little safer with a healthier puppy... And yes I had asked why she had 2 litters with different ages, and she told me that one litter was hers and one was her mother's, (they both breed Yorkies) and that she the daughter keeps the dogs while their delivering and nursing because her home is set up for it better, but she only shows puppies from her mother's house because she's a single mom and doesn't like having strangers come to her home or be near younger puppies so they don't get sick, thus only shows puppies from her mother's house.. We fell for the excuse... Then we fell for the excuse that we couldn't see the parents of the puppies because the parents were at her house and we had met her at her mother's house. Honestly, I was somewhat blindsided by the beautiful fluffy puppies.. We love our little girl and couldn't live without her, but she too has had some health problems and is way smaller than I thought she would be.. After learning more and doing some research I found some of your forums and the 'breeder' has been mentioned several times that she sells sick puppies and she isn't actually a 'breeder' she's a puppy broker buying puppies from other states and resales them here in the Sacramento / Marysvile area... I truly wish I would have known that disgusting people like this exist, and some of it is my fault for not knowing or educating myself more, this was the first time my husband and I have bought a purebred dog (in the past we got a dog from the shelter).. I looked at my Yorkie's papers and she was in fact from another state (I don't have the papers in front of me but I do recall it was somewhere far away, like Missouri or something)... Needless to say, I'm hoping that some of you can refer me to some reputable ethical breeders.. As I started to do some of my research on the Internet I found two breeders in my area and low and behold they have many negative reviews from this website as well as ripoff.com.. I just can't go through this situation again!! Please help... I'd love to get my little girl a friend to cuddle with Thanks for letting me vent!! |

| have you check this web site AKC Champion Yorkshire Terriers ? I am not familiar with this person but checked this site Yorkie Breeders Search by State and it seems she is only about 50 miles or so from you. Good luck and you might also check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America web site too. Joyce |
