| Need help with breeding. I've bred yorkies before this is not a first time for me but I took a hiatus for a couple years, I have a 2 1/2 yr old 8 pd female I've tried to breed her with 3 different yorkies all under 6 pds and she attacks all of them I mean seriously attacks them. I am now trying to breed her with a 3.5 pd yorkie, she likes him has not tried to attack him yet but it seems they can't make a connection, she is even lowing her body for him and it still doesn't seem like he can reach. Is there something I can do to help the process or it just won't work because he is too small? PS. I'm not on here for any lectures on breeding just an answer thanks in advance! |

| Ive heard breeders say they have had to put rolled up towels or a phone book down so the smaller male could reach the female

| I had use a rolled up rubber mat for the stud (3.5 pounds) when when I bred Cozy. It was a hands on process. I held her to make sure she did not harm ie start to walk from the male once they were locked and his owner supported his body in the air. The process was then repeated every other day x3 breeding to ensure it took. Your girl may have attacked the other males because she was not ready yet. Cozy was grumpy with the male at first for the breeding even though she already knew him. I had to bring her everyday til she was ready to accept him. It should always be the ladies chose.
