Help Split Heat? My 8 month old female Abigail, had her first Heat from August to September, seemed normal? Then in the beginning of November started another Heat. My vet. says it is a "Split Heat", rare but it does happen she commented. Has anyone heard of this. She also said I shouldn't be worried? Unless it continues to happen more than once. I thought I would get at least a 6 month break before her next one?

Every 21 Days? I was also told by the Vet. and another Breeder, that she will have a "Heat Cycle" every 21 Days until she has a Litter of Puppies? And after that she will have a cycle every 6 months? This does not sound right? Any truth to this or does it just depend on the circumstances?

Trixie had what I have always been told was a 'false heat,' in June, then again the 1st week of August, which was the month we bred her. Sounds like the same thing...?
