Where and how did you find the stud dog? Are his owners your mentor's? Did you bring her back to the home where she was born? These answers make a difference on how one feels about the situation. XOXO

| Agh the stud owner is lovely and really cares about all the dogs welfare. I originally purchased her from him when she was a pup. |

| I thought it was common practice the female goes to the males home as males take on the highest health risk during a mating?

| This is one of the reasons I never wanted to breed my dogs, I would not leave them in someone elses care. Also I did not want puppies. I had all 4 spayed/neutered.

| I'd never leave any of my girls- I just couldn't! But then again, you can drive to the other end of Ireland and back again in a matter of hours, so I'd rather make that journey a few times... But I just couldnt trust anyone enough to care for any of them for that long without me being able to see exactly how she is doing, but I wouldn't mind as much leaving her with her breeder (hypothetically speaking) as it would be a familiar place and people, and they have already been trusted with her life as a baby, so as an adult she'll be grand! personally though, I'd still want to be able to check in an d see how she was doing... A lot!

| I know the feeling.... we have bred our Aussie twice (for 2 separate litters) to a stud in Kansas. We live in Texas. It was a 12 hour drive one way just to take her. Each time we left her there about a week to a week and a half. We trust the stud owners completely though. They were so sweet with her. We got a kick out of the stories they would tell us (and we would talk to them almost every day). The wife said that if she knew she could get away with it, she would keep Stormie forever. That's the only kind of breeder I would ever deal with. Of course making the trip to pick her up each time and being reunited was priceless. We could tell she had a very nice experience with them but she's a daddy's girl and was SO happy to be back with us. Complete trust... gotta have it with the breeder!
