| necropsy results 3 weeks ago my 8 month old import puppy died suddenly here at 8 months of age. I had not one clue this girl was sick, simply saw she had a little soft stool on Saturday afternoon, gave her a bath and brushed her teeth at 10PM, nothing unusual noted, found her near death at 6AM, her behind all wet and a lot of fluid mess on the floor area around her. She took her last breath on the way to the hospital. I took her body to UNH for necropsy and find myself rather annoyed to be having to call around for results, which turn out to be pretty inconclusive. The finding is "gastroenteritis" and some notes it does not appear to be viral though some lab results were still not in as of last week when I got the incomplete necropsy report. The vet who spoke to me sounded like it was not that unusual for a puppy to suddenly die of this without ever having looked sick. He spoke of immune defiencies that may have allowed something to overwhelm her system. Her Hungarian breeder isn't interested. I'm grateful Alyssa of New Deal is not a close relative to any of my other dogs, but I'd really like to understand more of what went wrong. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
