| My Yorkie is 58 days pregnant My healthy 6.0 lbs yorkie "Chloe" is expecting 3-4 puppies really soon. I was wondering what some personal whelping dates you may have experienced. Her mood has changed and she has been urinating a little more frequently. Any advice? Last edited by ziggyzeke; 07-09-2011 at 03:00 PM. |

| Congrads on your litter. How far along was she when she began whelping? We are just excited and nervous at the same time. If worse comes to worse my neighbor is her vet. |

| Have you been taking her temperature? Her temp will drop 12-24 hrs before labor begins. Typically a dogs tempurature is around 101.5. It will drop to 98 degrees or lower. That method has always worked for me. I am expecting puppies in about three weeks. Keep us posted. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | thank you, my Chanel's temperature, drop to 98 on day 60 and she whelped her litter at 6 am on day 61. her puppies were big for her size, we saw that when we went for her x rays on day 59, this is her second litter. best of luck with yours..can't wait to see her puppies... |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Hello no, Chanel whelped normally, this litter 25 days ago was her second litter. your girl is getting closer but usually the day they whelp they loose their appetite, at least mine do, but according to my mentor some girls eat to the last minute, did you take her for x rays? the vet can determine if she is good to go or if her pelvic bone is too small and a c section might be needed. |

| x rays showed 3 puppies for sure, but there was a black spot where my vet suspects a 4th one. He said she would be fine whelping on her own and wouldnt require a c section. She has chosen to sleep more often in her whelp box in the last 2 days and you can hear her stomach being a little gassy. |

| Last night she was nesting like crazy in her box and today she is just laying around and tired but still has quit the appetite. I thought that a sign was the refusal of food? |

| Help I noticed clear discharge 30 minutes ago and she is now almost 62 days along. Would this be an indicator that whelping is near? If so anyone now how long? |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | clear discharge is a sign in my girls, that means soon, also not all bitches refuse food, that depends on her, how is her temperature, also did she loose her mucus plug, did you notice? you can get a warm wash cloth and wipe her nipple area and her privates to make sure she is clean if she is going into labor, I wipe my girl down every day from day 58 on until she weans the lil ones..I am leaving on vacation tomorrow, hopefully when I come back on sunday she had the puppies already and you and her can relax and enjoy them. best of luck.. |

| Hello Congrats to you and Chloe on your litter. I am very excited for you and I've only just read through your thread therefore I can only imagine how excited you are. By chance are all of your pups already spoken for? Good luck and speedy whelping |

I usually stay home with my females and have it all ready after day 56 ... ready for anything as after that anything can happen anytime. I hope this was reassuring for you and wish you and your female well. XOXO

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | You sound very anxious and I can understand, It's the waiting that is the worse. But for her sake you should try to calm down. She will pick up on your anxiety. You really should be taking her temp. / that is a big indicator on when she is ready to whelp. It can be just a few hour or up to 72 hour sometimes even more from the time you get a temp of 98*. All whelping females are different the temp is just a sign as you say. My girl whelped as few as several hour all the way up to three days after she had a temp of 98* so just be by her side, keep her calm and be ready. OH and it would help to have her box in a quiet part of the house away from all foot traffic, that helps tremendously.
