| Your Gonna Hate This.... Well, I'm a 29 year old veteran and I love my one and a half year old, 2.3lb pure bread AKC certified yorkshire terrier named Trouble. He has so many great features. I've had all the tests run and he is healthy as a horse with none of the ailments that stifle or compromise a bread. The tests weren't cheap either. His parents were both around 3.5lbs, AKC registered, and it shows...he's beautiful. Apple shaped head. Large, expressive ears. No trace of "reverse sneezing". He's a mini champion with an amazing personality. Dark black coat with great separation. He has not turned silver, tan or blue because it's not in his bloodline. He shows no fear, he's obviously the Alpha of the neighborhood [just like his owner ;-)], and he's a great guard, even though he's less yappy than most mini-hulks his size. Now, I'm no breeder. I'm just a veteran who's back in college trying to move upward and onward. I have little intention of ever owning a female because it seems they are just as much work as dealing with a human female! But, I love my little guy and I think if I let him mate with other pure bred yorkie females his size, then I could dispense my "pick of the litter" accordingly and get every woman in my life to shut up with the begging. I'd really like to let the little guy get some. He deserves it. He's great...the papers say so. But, I don't know how to go about it and I'm not out to destroy anyone's bloodlines, especially not his. I figure, sure, he's too small to be a show dog, but his genes are primed to make fantastic mini yorkie pets! So, where do I begin? Craigslist doesn't seem to take kindly to guys like me posting about how he'd like to pimp his dawg, and they REALLY don't like when I say I'm looking for a hot bitch. lol....anyways. Please help me out here OR let the flame war begin. Either way, He comes Trouble. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...oove/photo.jpg |

| Breeders should only be breeding to the standard and your dog is not standard even though Im sure he is gorgeous to you. Applehead is not standard and the standard calls for a blue coat. He should not be bred

| Your little guy is a nice boy. However, I think you should read the YTCA's description of the breed standard (the "ideal") because your description is different. A lot of people here have Yorkies with papers from excellent lines, but they are still pet quality, not intended to be bred. The rest of your post indicates a cavalier attitude not appropriate for the serious undertaking of breeding creatures who are dependent on humans for their safety and well-being. Breeding sounds easy, studding sounds harmless, but you would be surprised.

| You seems very familiar to me. Have you been here under a different name? Possibly moved from IL to TX with your military training? Switched schools? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...need-help.htmlHave a girlfriend who owned your little guy? Well, if you aren't who I think you are then I have a BFF to introduce you to! Or maybe you took a hawk for a walk http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ngry-hawk.html BTW~a reputable breeder would not have sold you a dog with OPEN REGISTRATION to be bred as you pleased so your little guy could not be all that you say. He should be neutered and loved as a pet. If you start studding him out he will become a marking machine and that will bring an entirely new situation that will cause far too many issues.

| Get a life. Seriously. You came on with the sole intention of stirring the pot? I don't know if that is sad and pathetic or just downright annoying.

| I think you have already figured out the sentiment of the your post in your title. The question I have for you is, "Why would you want to breed with all the poor dogs that are looking for homes?" If you are serious and are for real, you need to learn as much as you can prior to bringing new lives into the world. Just so you can have "pick of the litter" is, in my opinion, a very selfish, idiotic reason to bring innocent souls into the world. If you are for real, Thank you for your service in the armed forces but please don't take breeding or bringing innocent puppies into this world for the sake of letting your little guy "get some".

I think your little guy is a living doll but I'm not sure about stud material. OH, and you are aware about the marking issue once you have studded him out, no? I don't think you are ready to breed OR are breeding for the right reasons; so you won't find many to condone it on this board anyway.

| Trouble seems like such a loving lil boy. He deserves to be loved as the pet he is and nothing more. Please consider neutering him and start saving for your next pet. Good luck! P.S. You said you did a lot of testing, I am curious as to what specifically. Last time I checked reverse sneezing is not something to check for, perhaps you are confused? Lastly, if you are trying to take YTers for a ride. Hang on to your own seatbelt because it can get a lil 'bumpy' lol

| Thank you for your service, and good luck in college and the future. However, I agree with the rest. Get the little guy neutered, and love him as your pet. |

| It is better for a male to never "get some" , then to "get some" and then nver again....are you happy with sex once a month, 6mos, yearly..well, male studs are not...once you start a male at stud, you have a stud...and they become obcessed with their job.... There is nothing happier then a neutered male...what they never had, they never miss... You just do not know the joy of living with a leg cocking, breeding male...I have lived with many..loved those boys, but live is nicer without them...testicles, that is...
