| Reabsorption? If any breeders here have experienced this please let me know. My female Annabelle was pregnant with her 2nd litter and at sometime lost the litter. We had her x-rayed on day 50 and the vet said she was in the process of reabsorption. All they were able to see on the films were calcification spots. Since then though her teets have started to swell more and so has her stomach. She isn't still long enough for me to tell if there is a pup or not. Could a pup still be there just it was hidden under the reabsorption stuff, or is her body just going to go through the whole having puppy stages regardless that there are none? My vet didnt seem to helpful with the info. Thanks Talia

| Yes, this has happened to one of my girls... But she still carried one pup to term out of that pregnancy... We still treated her with antibotics. Please let us know how Annebelle is doing.

| Tomorrow is her due date. She is still swollen, and she has a clear discharge now. The vet didn't give her antibiotics when I had her there. She isn't showing signs of infection though. Her teets look like they are ready to fill with milk though. I am just waiting to see, and keeping her close. Thanks so much for the thoughts.

| I am so sorry to hear about the loss of the pups. I don't mean to be ignorant, but did you post a little while back when you found out about the reabsortion? I remember the post well, but can't remember who posted it (which is how I remember 99% of the posts). I do hope that there is a little survivor in there for you and Annabelle. Please keep us posted and I wish you a nice surprise. |

| her due date from the first hook-up has come and gone. She is still swelling. I do think that there is a pup left. she is starting the nesting routine. I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow and have reevaluated. Wish us luck. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

| Good News I took Belle today for a check-up. I knew I felt a pup and there are actually 2. They seem pretty big though, at least compared to her other litter films. She lost some weight, which is probably from the loss of some of the litter. She is due Thursday, that is day 63 from her last hook. Her milk hasn't dropped yet, and neither has her temp. So it is now a waiting game. I feel bad about her loss of the others but I am so excited about the two that survived. Thanks so much for the support I will let everyone kow when she has them.

| I am so happy for you! You'll be walking around little pups in no time. Give Belle a hug for us all and I hope the delivery is smooth and quick. Tracy |
