| Sadie is in labor Sadie is in labor and she is doing well. I knew something was up because all night last night she kept getting out of my bed and running to the whelping box then she would come back to the bed and bark for me to pick her up. I bought her steps but she refuses to use them. I was sitting here and she yelped and I looked at her and she was running around in circles and her belly was hard as a rock. I called my Mentor, who had to leave work, I told her get here now cause I can not do this on my own. She said stay calm I am on my way. She is upstairs with Sadie while I am typing this to let everyone know what is going on. Pray for my baby girl |

| We are at a stand still. Sadie was having contractions every half hour and now they have seem to stop. Her temp is still 98.3 but she is not uncomfortable at all and she actually wanted something to eat so I fed her, I hope that is ok. Is this normal, can a dogs contractions just stop like this. I am so worried about her. |

| Yes, they can stop contractions. However, if she's had 10 hard contractions in a row. without whelping a pup something be hindering the pup from proceeding. You're mentor should be able to tell you what the danger signs are and when Vet intervention is necessary.

Something like this happened with my first litter. I woke up to find my Caty in labor. I called my job to get the day off but my boss was being an a$$ and told me if I didn't come in I was fired. I reluctantly took her to my vet's for the day (my vet also bred Yorkies) and went on to work. I just KNEW she would have the babies very soon, but every time I called, no babies. She stopped her contractions for the entire day. I picked her up after work and went straight home. Within 15 minutes we had our first pup. If Sadie doesn't know your mentor, it may be nervousness on her part that is keeping the contractions at bay. You could try to attend to her alone for a while, but keep your mentor close. This may relax her enough to go ahead and deliver. Of course, as Mardelin said, it could be indicative of another problem. I wouldn't wait too long without seeing a vet on this. Hoping for an update with good news.

| That is what immediately came to my mind too! You don't want to miss a minute of this. The mentor is supposed to be there to train you how to do it. Someday, hopefully you will be able to pass this knowledge on to another. Watch, learn, participate! You want to take part in this miracle! We can wait for an update when you are all done!
