| Puppies fighting This has recently come up. Two out of three of my yorkie pups, male and female, have recently started fighting. It's not your normal play fight but I mean down and out screaming and growling and seriously attacking each other. The first time it happened I ran into the room because it sounded like my momma dog was attacking them. She was standing there watching them. Today she was with me in the kitchen and it happened again. This time she ran as fast as she could, with me in tow, to the bedroom. My husband was already in there and he said they were on their hind legs going to town on each other. Now he calls them the devil dogs. I don't like this because the momma and daddy are as SWEET as they can be. Could something be triggering them? They are only 31 days old. Should I be concerned? Thanks for any advice...........Barbara |

Be careful not to get it in their eyes...it stings (yes, I did accidently squirt myself in the eyes!). I spritz the top of their ears to keep them from playing so rough on each others ears. Mary is right your mama dog will teach them all they need to know about fighting/play/real. My mama dog frequently sits of the couch supervising them playing and when one gets too rough she'll jump down and separate them and get back up to her post, her head going back and forth monitoring their rough housing in the living room. I think it's pretty amazing to watch the mothering process in these dogs.
