| Yorkie Vs Silky Terrier Hi, I'm a new member and just became a proud owner of a 4 month Yorkie. The previous owner neglected her and so I really don't know much history about my puppy. I was browsing the net and found Yorkies look identical to Silky. Any way I can tell for sure? |

| Several years ago (well, it was in the early 90's), Bruce (my husband) and I had gone shopping. When we go out our dogs were always in the house, and the doggie door closed down. When we came home we opened up the doggie door and this little dog came in through the door, no collar and tags. I called the humane society to see if anyone had reported the dog as missing and left our phone number with them. They called us later to say the owner had called looking for their dog so we were able to reunite it with the owner. We couldn't figure out how the little one had wandered into the yard. We have a fenced in yard. A few days later someone stopped us in the street to say that they had found our Yorkie in the street, their little girl said it lived at our house, so as they couldn't get an answer at the door they had popped it over the fence. The little dog sure looked a lot like our Penni, but it was a Silky not a Yorkie. They definitely look alike. But I am happy that they found the little one and popped it into our yard where it was safe.

If you post some photos I will tell you. I can't help you with instructions on the posting of photos. But I know silkys & yorks. I'm fond of both breeds. | |
