| Barking Hi, We are having a problem with our 9 month old Yorkie Bella barking when we are not in sight. If she is left for even a moment in her crate and someone walks out of the room she FLIPS OUT and whines and cries and barks up a STORM and only stops when we walk back in. I know this reinforces her behavior but how do we stop it if we have to be in the room? Also, if we leave the house she barks the WHOLE time we are gone. I don't work and the kids are home for the summer and come and go through the day. I run errands she can't always come on. I need her to be OK for shorts stints while we are gone. How can I get her to stop without driving my neighbors up the wall? Do I just let her bark it out? Will she get a clue at some point or will she just bark all day every day? I have raised Newfoundlands but never small breed dogs. I don't know how to handle this. Thanks, Stacy |
