| Nursing Mom's What do you feed? Just wondering what everyone feeds their nursing mom's as my baby is very picky after her litter and doesn't eat much. She only wants chicken and meats. She is now starting to eat the puppy food again. Any suggestions? Her pups are happy and content. I have given her puppy milk mixed with water and vitamins.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I give mine about 4 meals a day plus they have dry kibble out all the time. I give eggs, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, wet puppy food. If I have a picky mom I will give her anything she will eat. Sometimes I have trouble with them wanting to drink water. If I put it in my hand they will drink. So I do that all day long. I also supplement with Dr. Roys healthy bones. I have also just started using Dyne.

| Thank you everyone that responded. She had a 3.8oz boy & a 4.8oz girl born on June 14. All is well since I wrote this. She has started eating her puppy food. The puppies are 9.2oz girl and the boy is 7.9 as of today. I've given her the whelping mixture for the first few days of nursing. All is well now and she is eating normal. Her first litter was different and I had to feed her soft food and all her fav foods as she wouldn't touch the puppy food. Now she is back to normal and still being a perfect mom. I just wanted to know what others do and compare. Thanks again. My girl is a crier when picked up and the boy is an angel. She looses them in the sheets and I had to remove all blankets as she cry's when she can't untangle them. So that problem is fixed. How long do you give the calcium fortified foods for?

As they puppies grow their demand for milk increases and that is when the mothers can develop eclampsia. So I keep giving it to them, just to be safe. | |

She loves the egg in it with the vitamins crushed. She is 5lbs but a small shorter 5lb girl. So to be on the safe side I will continue till the pups are starting to eat on their own. Thanks again! She means the world to me. So I must do anything to prevent a disaster.

I have a question for you. I have someone that has a yorkie puppy that is 8 months old. The yorkie was coughing and then shakes and falls. Is that a seizure? I told her to take him to the vet as I can't see what's happening so not sure if its a seizure or a coughing fit. Would you know anything about this or what it could be?
