Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, I've seen purebred Yorkies with white. Parti Yorkies, for that matter, are purebred and they have lots of white. The issue is the AKC standard. According to their rules, any white markings other than a small white spot on the forechest that does not exceed 1 inch at its longest dimension is a disqualification for show purposes.

| Depends where the white markings are ...many puppies are born with a patch of white on the chest, tips of the feet may be white..but it grows off the end of the foot by 8 wks..the white chest patch blends into the gold and is rarely seen. Then you have the Parti fancier who accept white on the saddle and other body parts of an adult. |

Yorkie Talker | white on yorkies Yeah i guess they are called a party yorkie when they have white on them. I am by far an expert just stumbled on the highest of the high yorkie showers and championship breeders site last night while looking to buy a sweet pup. The standard they say is if they have more than an inch on the chest they are not akc show matterial! so it is cute and differant but not standard to wrap it up! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'm no expert either, but this is my understanding: A Yorkie can be AKC registered and not meet the standards. But it will be disqualified from AKC show competitions and could never earn points or a championship. Eddie is oversized and miscolored, but he's AKC registered. Also neutered Jillie has a parti dad, and she's eligible for AKC registration. I just haven't done it yet.

As the DQ states the spot can be no longer than an inch on the chest. And you're right they can't be shown in AKC conformation events.

| I have seen new borns with large white patches that extent to the arm pits..by 12 to 16 weeks it had turned or blended into the gold..I do not recall having an adult with any white..it always blends for me... The bigger problem is not knowing if the sire is registered AKC..so IMO the color is not an issure with unregistered pups... Post a pic of the white if you can... |

| As a puppy Kalina had a beautiful white goatee, which completely disappeared.
