| Heat Cycle My little Bella came into season on May 15. It is her first time and I am trying to figure out when she will go out. Let me be the first to say this was not the plan. We had scheduled for her to be fixed on that Monday, the doctor decided that she didn't want to do it until she was finished with this cycle. She still has swollen nipples that are tender but I noticed that her vulva swelling is going down. So, do you think we have another week before she is back to normal? PS. There is zero chance she is pregnant. She has been hooked to me or her daddy.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I have read some other posts about this subject and have a female who is still has her heat cycles. 1 week going in, 1 week in, and 1 week going out for a total of 21 days. I usually wait an extra week before I let Emma socialize with males, just to make sure. I hope this helps you out. YorkieProud |

1 week coming in pink and swelling 1 week in - showing color 1 week going out....when she is able to concieve. However, to be on the safe side, since all females are different, to keep her away from males for a month. Her retrn to mental stability may take longer.

| I begin fattening my boys up before my girl comes into Season. I know that they are going to go off food and lose weight. I've resorted to hand feeding the boys. I've also had a couple of girls that go off food when they come into Season.

| Thank You Thank you all for the information, I forgot about the last week being conception time. I will be so happy when the mental is normal, she can't figure out what she wants......sounds just like me. The one thing she started doing is humping. She has a toy we call Mr. Binky, that would really like a rest from over use. Ok, I was laughing at her or with her. I was sitting her on YT and out of the corner of my eye I see Mr. Binky hopping down the hallway. I figured she had some aggression to get out. Has anyone one else seen an increase in this type of behavior during the heat cycle?

| okay this leads me to a question, my yorkie pup is only 3.5lbs so not big enough to be spayed when do you think she would go into heat, the vet said usually around 6 months. I have two other male dogs who are fixed are they all going to freak out? Do I still need to keep them separated? |

Each male is different, some nuetered males will be completely unaffected, others can be enticed by that intact female......Never under estimate the power's of a female that wants to be bred.
