My moms yorkie got pregnant and it actually took us 3 weeks before she had her puppies for her to show any signs, in some dogs the breast wont drop or start lactating until after she has had her puppies. Actually my moms dog loved to jump around and play during her pregnacy but its not got too let them because it can cause a miscarage.

Most yorkies don't start showing until they are 4 or 5 weeks along. If your girl was active before being bred then she will most likely stay active until the pups are born, depending on how big she gets. Some females, after being bred, will go off their food a little and some will get morning sickness. Usually if a female is pregnant the vulva will stay a little soft and swollen and the nipples will slowly enlarge.

if my yorkie is pregnate thanks to the 2 that answered me..the last one said she will go off her food a little that i didn't noticed. but she did puke last wk but it was at night time on my bed. if she is pregnate she would of been only 2wks...yes her vulva looks a bit swollen and soft but i'm not sure...i told my hubby just cause our husky showed at 3wks i heard yorkies start at 5-6 wks every dog is different...i guess i have no patience i want to see results like soon lol

My Diamond was breed about 3 wks ago as well! She did and still is on and off with her food! She now has a love off boiled eggs.....But back to the topic if your girl was mated and her vulva didn't return to its normal size thats a sure sign that she's pregnant! Diamond is going into week 3 and I can tell the change in her teets, they are much longer and sticking out but as for her showing it probably will depend on the size of your female. All are so different and it could be 4 to 6 weeks before she begins to show.

Judging pregnancy can be tricky. A female can have a false pregnancy and exhibit all the signs of pregnancy. Females can also be pregnant and then if not fed the proper diet or if they are exposed to certain chemicals they can absorb the pups. It is very important to get the bred mom on a proper diet and do not expose her to chemicals, medicines or excessive heat. This is an interesting article that every breeder should read: Birth Defects in Dogs.

| I know nothing about breeding dogs but I do find this thread making me feel a little uncomfortable.

Hey chloes mom this is Diamonds dad lol! This is her 1st litter so we are playing the waiting game as well! we notice her changes so early on bc she is a wanna get in your lap and lay on the couch with you so we have alot of contact and observations with her. If her teets are longer thats a really good sign. If you look up the jensen dog pregnancy calendar it will give you alot of helpful information in what u can look for and shows you the different stages week by week.

Good Morning Sashazx75 I have noticed a change in Diamonds teets, they are much longer and pink. She is normally 6lbs and is now 7. We are experiencing the same problems with the food. She has actually only threw up 1 time, but she will not touch her dry dog food so a lil cottage cheese or eggs has seem to keep her happy. I will actually be taking her into the vet next week as well. Good Luck and keep in touch!

Hey Sasha congrats! Diamonds appointment is June 1-2010 and her expected due date is July 6, so we are just beginning week 4 now but I can definitely tell a difference in her. Her belly is much firmer and filling out. Its easy to tell with her b/c she lives for belly rubs so she demands a belly rub several times a day! Lol.....We go in for exam and/or ultrasound on the 1st. Keep in touch.....
