| The male should be well into adulthood--old enough to have had all necessary medical testing performed and old enough to have fully developed as an adult so that his qualities can be evaluated in comparison to the standard for the breed. |

| Now if you're asking for legalities - AKC rules no litter produced by a dog under 7 months of age can be registered. Now ethically Bama's response to your question is the best.
