Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I was going to say false pregnancy because I have had girls do this. They get bigger, get milk, go to the whelping box and then tried to nurse toy for about a week. Since you felt them move...then I don't know. I would take her into the vet. I would think it would be to late to absorb the pups. Is she having any discarge? Was she confined to one area? How many pups? If one maybe it is dropping down in the birthing canal.

| I'd take to vet and have xray and I'm guessing if she's smaller she could have absorbed her pups. It's never too late to start absorbing them especially if she had one or two. |

I think it would be wise to have her checked out. Are the pups still moving good today?

| When a female has a litter of pups she will always have a bloody and greenish discharge for sometime afterwords so I doubt she delivered with you knowing it. Are you feeling any movement at all? I agree with others that you should get her to the vet. It is possible she lost her pups and she is absorbing them. It could also lead to a uterus infection so to be safe you should have her checked out. Please keep us posted. |

| Time to go to the vet I agree with Brooklyn (Donna). It's very likely that she is beginning to reabsorb the puppies. You may still have some alive, but if an infection is the cause, you stand the risk of losing all of them and possibly her if you do not treat it quickly, so please get her to the vet ASAP! I've had this happen twice now (my past year has been full of challenges as a breeder). One bitch required an emergency C section and I nearly lost her. The other girl we treated with antibiotics, as there was an infection. When her cervix opened a few days later, when the puppies were due, she had a black discharge. It's really important to follow up in 2 to 3 months and have a vaginal culture done to determine if there is a residual infection so that you can treat and re-culture again before you breed her the next time. The one that we treated with antibiotics did not have a clear culture, so we are re-treating with a different antibiotic.
