| Do to still get nervous? Do you still get nervous when "it's time" ? This is my first litter and I have educated myself for over a year and a half. I have a great mentor and have read everything I can get my hands on and watched numerous videos and had several talks with the vet. But...I am so nervous!! I hope and pray I am a good whelping nurse and all goes well for me and my little Tink. Will I get less jitters as I deliver more litters? |

| I can not say I feel nervous...I feel the stress of waiting for that "pot" to boil..once the whelping starts I breath a big sigh of relief..the waiting gets to me. |

| YES, I always get nervous at each and every whelping. I don't relax until pups are here and they and mom are doing OK. |

| Whelping freaks me out so I guess that's why I prefer the show ring vs. the whelping box. I've never had problems with delivery as most of the time I freak out and the vet delivers LOL...but yes I've whelped and I'm not ok until they pass the 3 1/2 week mark and then that's when I start relaxing LOL Donna Bird |

| Well I am so glad to hear you ladies also have a little nerves. That makes me feel a little better. I'm glad my mentor with be with me, if not I might be passed out next to the whelping box. (Kinda like hubby did when I delivered!!)

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I get nervous when breeding them, before whelping, during whelping, after whelping and even when the pups go home. Sometimes I wonder if I am cut out for this.

I know exactly how you all feel!!! I would be worried if someone was not worried!!! LOL!!! It is such a stressful situation. I have told myself that I have to stay calm because I dont want mom to pick up on me being nervous. My dh tries to remind me but I worry too much.

| From the day I mate a female to the day the pups go to their forever homes I am nervous. When that time comes to whelp out a litter I am a ball of nerves. I sit with moms and "push" with them! My belly ends up hurting from the nerves and the all the pushing I do. I have never had a "relaxing" pregnancy or birth. From making sure the moms are eating well to making sure the pups are weaned and healthy...it is a rollercoaster ride for sure. I often wonder if I am cut out to do this too... |

| I love mid-woofing! I remember my very first litter... my mentor had a family emergency, and had to go to FL. the day before 'we' were due ! So I was on my own, sort of, I had her on SKYPE, picture me holding the camera down and around my poop lil Mom... I get nervous, that they didn't catch, then, that they did! Are they eating enough, but not too much (don't want huge pups... I start sleeping on the couch a few days before 'we' are due, and a few days after delivery. I am less nervous once the delivery has started, at least for a while. I have experienced LOTS of different emergency's , and have managed them all, ok... My dh asks all the time, "why do you do this to yourself?" lol I don't think it gets any easier, other than experience helps you know if things are right / wrong, so you can make more informed choices. Call vet now / in the morning... I would not trade it though, I love being a midwoof!

| I am so glad to know it's all worth it! Just like skin babies! My DH almost everyday says "I hope you're ready, do you have everything, are you sure she shouldn't wait a couple of more years?" Just like a granddaddy to be. He is so excited he has already started to name the pups. Hello...we don't even know how many yet! Last night he said: "maybe we should keep them all, it being her first litter in all" Geeze...he is making me gray!

| The most stress for me is AFTER whelping...I rather enjoy whelping and have whelped litters for others who are too nervous..I think I am more suited as a canine OB..LOL BUT caring for mom and pups is a worry for me...so much can go wrong and I have to be on my toes 24/7... |
