Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Need someone who has experience going after a breeder Well... earlier I posted a venting complaint about my little Molly who was sold to me with SEVERE Coccidia and a resistence to Albon since the breeder had been giving that to her as supposed maintenance for prevention every other day only. She has had Albon treatment, then Tribrissen treatment and then again Albon treatment and is still testing positive for Coccidia. Since day 1 of bringing her home, I noticed that she was scratching a lot. Was worried she was getting allergies from the shots. She also had dry skin on her forehead and even the breeder had commented on that before I took her home and said it was probably dandruff and that he didn't think it was flees. Well..... a week ago at the vet I wanted a skin scraping just to be sure and rule anything bad out. Their microscope was broken so we had to wait until today. The vet really didn't think it would be anything, but... as she is looking under the microscope I hear this "Oh My......". She allowed me to look into this microscope and I about freaked the heck out by what I saw! My puppy on top of everything else has Sarcoptic Mange which is contagious to humans! I have 3 small children and I hug this little puppy and cuddle her little face (Where we know the mange for sure is) onto my cheek!!!! I am soooo beside myself and wish I had just bought the cute little boy in Azusa for $800. The breeder that I bought Molly from kept telling me I didn't want to buy a dog from a home breeder and that they are soooo professional, better and have high quality dogs. She also sold me Molly for a lot more money because she claimed she was a Teacup and that just by looking at her you can see the quality of the dog. That was why she was so much more money! I am very confident that they knew there was a Coccidia problem and clearly they are a puppy mill and I am thinking they very well knew about this Mange as well. I want to send her a certified letter requesting all of my money back, otherwise I will call the News and I will report here where ever I can. And take her to small claims court. I am sickened that she would sell me a 9 week old puppy that has so many issues and is far from done with treatments! I homeschool 3 small children and I am soooo drained over all of this!!! She finally has had normal stools for 2 weeks and now after being at the vet all day came home with diarrhea. Please if anyone can advise me on what wording I should send to this breeder, I would greatly appreciate. I just feel like I was so had and paid far too much for this puppy. I love her to pieces, but won't touch her now without gloves until I know she no longer has this!! This all sucks for all of us. I may have to take my whole darn family to the Dr. to be tested now. I also hope and pray that all of this crap my poor little puppy has had to have and take doesn't damage her for life! I just want to go and cry! God only knows what else this dog may be carrying or infected with from that sick puppy mill!!! |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | sorry for everything that you are going through right now with your new little girl...take a little breather sounds like you were holding your breath as you typed...lol...all jokes aside you can start with filing a report with BBB...and ripoff.com (i think) where did you get her from? what is the breeder name? maybe try googling her kennel and name to see what others have said about her...did you get a written health guarantee? anything?

| The first thing I would do is call your breeder and let them know what is going on. Also get a letter from your vet to prove that the pup had to have had this before you brought your pup home.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | wow. Normally coccidia is very treatable but the Sarcoptic Mange is HORRIBLE and very hard to get rid of - it makes dogs miserable and can be contagious to everyone in your family. Please read up on treatment - I knew someone who had to deal with it and it was a nightmare...I think you'll have to treat your home too That breeder does suck ! I don't know what you can do except document every single thing and keep after them - they'll probably start ignoring you though...... all the best - that poor little puppy - if she has all this - chances are all the puppies coming from her do and that's where you can really help if you get someone to listen. IF She cares - she would help you with your vet bills - but many will wash their hands of you after the sale. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | IDK for certain but believe CA is one of the States with a good puppy lemon law. Definitely report this bad breeder to ripoffreport.com, the BBB and by posting here you're spreading the word if you post the breeder's name. Good luck with your baby, I sympathize with you, treating a resistant coccidia is bad enough, but mange too....bless your hearts!

| Issues with Breeder Ok, so I'm going to sound like a bad person but Before buying the puppy did you? 1. Check references of the breeder including Vet breeder uses? 2. Check the BBB for complaints? 3. Require a money back guarantee from breeder for any medical reasons? 4. Do any research on Yorkies..... (if so, you would of known there is no such thing as a Teacup Yorkie) 5. Look at other breeders in your area? If no to any of the above, esp. #3 you are at fault too and you never would of purchased a puppy at 9 weeks of age or even thought about doing business with a breeder that would sell such a young puppy. My 2 cents John |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Yes John, I already know that I am an idiot! I have beaten myself up plenty already, But go ahead and keep at it if you like. I do know now that there is no such thing as a Tea Cup, but when I was wanting a Yorkie, that is all you see. I have many dogs, but I have no experience with buying such an expensive one and have never had a Yorkie. So shoot me! I have an AKC Pom. and an AKC Lab. Before that all of my dogs have been rescue dogs. My life has been very stressfull and I really wanted an indoor small dog again. What is done is done, but be that as it may, this Puppy Mill Breeder has NO BUSINESS selling puppies like this. Yes, I am an idiot and made a mistake, but either way, I should be able to get some type of money from her to pay for these vet bills! Yes, Jen, from what I have learned Calif. does have a strict puppy Lemon Law. Her contract states no health guarantee except if I find it in like 24-48 hours. I have never, ever of all of my dogs in all of the years had any with problems like this. Why should I expect this? I did figure if I found out she had some genetic problem a year later, that wouldn't really matter because by that time they are your family and you would never give them up. Heck, Molly is now my family and I would now never give her up. I may be an ass John, but this breeder is a bigger one! I was actually sent to her by an old friend who has 4 Yorkies and has had them for over 20 years (the breed). I trusted she knew what she was talking about. I actually did do some research on Yorkies and I did read that there is no such thing as a Teacup, but then you see others who say there is. Either way, I wanted a small Yorkie. I did look at Breeders in my area as well, I looked at and called plenty. I now have told several Yorkie owners there is no such thing. I just came here to request a little help (even though I was an idiot), I don't really care to get bashed by you or anyone else. I do and have been doing plenty of that to myself already. But thanks anyway. |

| I am so sorry for you and I feel for you , I like you had NO idea what I was doing when I got my dog!! I was very sick with cancer and very depressed, Dr said get a dog, told me under 10 pds, came home googled, I found a yorkie, I would have ( at that time) gone to a pet store , but couldnt afford those prices around here ( 4000.00) , so I unknowingly went to a BYB... she actually seemed okay at the time, nice house, had mom and dad in her kitchen with my puppy... seemed nice, wouldnt let me take her till she was 12 weeks, BUT knowing what I do know she was a horrible breeder...I just didnt know what I was doing at the time, ignorance is no excuse but I like you was guilty of being stupid... My dog had Kennel cough and double ear infections... she didnt return my calls so I went to her house with my vet bills and would NOT Leave until I got MY MONEY... I suppose it could have been worse.. I believe you deserve the money back for the medical care but be careful because if that money exceeds the amount of the dog she can request the dog back, I dont know about you but , there was NO WAY I could have parted with my dog , not even after a few days I was in love with her... I hope you get some of the vet money back... and I pray your baby is better soon... Im very sorry you got screwed out of your money too!!

| I certainly hope you take action and read up on what you can do. California is much more progressive when it comes to protecting the person who purchased the dogs then many states....There is a lot of information out on the internet to review...just plug in California Puppy Lemon Laws... Dog-Play: Getting a Dog Tips - California's Puppy Lemon Law California Puppy Lemon Law Take your emotion away and follow the law. You now need to do your homework even though you didn't when you bought this dog. Hopefully your little one will recover.

| What a dilema your in. I really feel for you and that little puppy. I know your upset, who wouldn't be but did you call the breeder with this new information? This will effect her whole kennel! Maybe this will get her attention! Those poor dogs. I hope you can get your baby healthy again. Wishing you good luck and your little one good health. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here is the actual statue detailing the California lemon law. It pertains only to sellers who sold more than 50 animals the previous year. http://www.theanimalcouncil.com/file...ection_Act.pdf

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank You. There is no way I would give her back to them. I also thought that when I last read some of the Calif. Lemon Law links, I saw that you could get up to the amount and 1/2 of what was paid for the puppy in vet bills. I figured I should send her a letter and ask for what I want and if she doesn't pay me I will take her to small claims. Quote:

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | No, I have not called her. ANy dealing I do do with her, I feel should be in writing so that I have proof of all that is/was said. I did just speak to someone who believes they have been on the news before and had many after them. I sure would like to find some of these people. Quote:
