| Bear Line Imported Yorkshire Terriers Hello everyone, I am asking for help. Has anyone heard of this breeder? I am very close to putting a deposit down on a new puppy. I have listed the website below if you have the chance to take a look and tell me what you all think. www.yorkieterrier.net Thanks so much, Jan |

| There is not really a lot there to make a good judgement but I will tell you this bothers me: The pictures above were taken of Lilyashly"s BabyBear the night before she died. She was six months old and weighed 1 lb. 8 oz. She was barely the size of a five week old puppy. We don't know for certain, but think she died of a stroke or heart attack. She had a head injury as a newborn and probably would always have problems had she survived. BabyBear seemed much like a handicapped child and had to relearn everything. At five months, the five week old puppies were ahead of her in motor skills and interest in food. She would seem to improve and then would have a setback. I became so very attached to her sweet, strong spirit, hand-feeding her and watching over her. Her passing left a definite empty place in my heart. Sweet dreams, little one. ***** I think any breeder of Yorkies should always be considering Liver Shunt but at the very lease this breeder should have had a neocropys done to determine why this little one didn't grow and what did she died of? A reputable breeder knows how high LS is in these dogs and would want to make sure they are not breeding it...IMHO. I would look somewhere else for a puppy.

| I found the website a little hard to follow. Too much on one page! I don't agree with them not finding the reason as to why the six month old female passed. That alone would be enough for me. If they are not testing their adults, what are their puppies carrying? I would look elsewhere!

| JMO..I would spend more time grooming if I was this breeder. You may not find that important, but it is speaks volumes to me. |

| I saw that, not to mention, price varies on size...$1000.00 for 4-7lbs & $1500.00 for tinies under 4lbs!

| You owe it to yourself to talk to alot of Yorkie breeders and take your time before making that decision. This is an addition to your family. It is important enough to be very careful and think it through very well. A lot of breeders are out there to interview.

If it were me...I'd be looking at adopting a rescue (yorkierescue.com) but, if I had my heart set on a puppy then it would definitely be from a breeder with the best recommendations plus, one that I could actually go and visit in person rather than merely picking a photo of a puppy from a website. - Best of luck in your search...keep us posted!

| Some things that stand out to me are: 1) There seems to be a lot of emphasis on the dogs coming from "tiny" lines. Reputable breeders to not purposely breed to get extremely small dogs. 2) Also, they make LOTS of references to the Champion lines. However, looking at the one pedigree posted, the 3 Ch's are all 6, 7 generations back...so those genes really contribute only a very SMALL amount to the pups being produced currently...multiple generations later. |

| Hmm...some champions many, many years ago, no pedigrees, no nice pictures, many dogs and I can't see the breeders work with them, no grooming, ears not standing correctly, hear on the eyes, no top knots and not styling cut the hear, and little puppie on the floor by the chair! and many many litters at once...I suppose Irish breeders are not all the same... |
