| 5 week old puppy has eye issue.. One of Kallie's puppies just started having what looks like puss coming out of the tear duct in one eye. I thought it was just a little eye booger but when i wiped it off, i saw there was more coming out. He is playing and acting normal.. Nobody in my home is sick so I am not sure what he could have. I have never had a puppy do this and my vet is closed. Is this an emergency? Does anybody know what this could be? |

| Sounds like he got scratched by one of his littermates. You will need to take him in for ornament to help heal it. You can wipe it for now till you go in to the vets with warm water on a cloth, just gentle wipe and keep it clean. Also you can use human toenail clippers and be sure all the pups' nails are trimmed. They grow so fast when they are little. |

| If it were me, I would go to the vet. I have read so many stories where a puppy has lost an eye due to an infection.

| ~The same thing happened to one of my puppies. My vet put her on Clavomox and I would wipe her eye a couple times a day with a warm wet washcloth. It cleared up after a couple of weeks. He said it was probably due to a littermate scratching her eye and resulting in the pus. |

| Today is a holiday too ... hopefully your pup is better and you were able to find a vet ! Did you think it could be conjunctivitis? If it is this it may pass to the litter mates ! XOXO

| Sorry for not responding sooner, life just goes by soooo fast.. Anyways, Mickey's little eye is all better. I wiped it down a few times and it just cleared up. I called the vet and they said just keep it clean until they come in on Wed for their checkup.. He is 100% better right now.. Thanks for all the help.. |
