| Pedigree program Hey guys!!!! I am looking for a user friendly, inexpensive pedigree program to use. I need to get started on this ASAP, as Tessa is about to be bred for the first time. Any suggestions???? When I bred danes, I used a program that a friend gave me but cannot for the life of me remember what it was called!!!!!

But, if you're just wanting to build a pedigree....Sitstay.com has a free pedigree builder.

It is once you get started. The hardest part is putting in all the dogs. You can generate up to a 11 generation pedigree..... But, being able to maintain all your records in one place is great. The enhanced pedigree generator gives you the ability to print birth certificates, with a place for you to put their paw prints at birth and the day they leave...... If you order it you make sure you order the package with the program disks. Just from experience....I lost my old computer and couldn't recover my records....so, I had to start all over.

| That is the same program I use too. You might find it easier if you look for Man's Best Friend Software. I also upgraded the Pedigree program. Very simple to use. |

| I guess my post was confusing. Man's Best Friend is the name of the company that makes the Breeders Standard as well as some other programs. I thought it might be easier to look up the company instead of the program, but it may be just the same. |

| Oh, I know. I try to keep it updated and the 2010 looks like it might be really good. I have really gotten my monies worth from it. When I first started studing pedigrees I was putting it in a Family History Software. This is sooo much better. Can't remember how long ago I bought it, but it was way before I started showing. I have always been a history nut. Like you said the price is much better now... |
