| Breeders Please Help My 4 year old yorkie delivered 5 female puppies this morning. This is her 3 litter and she has had 5 each time. This is the first time I have been home when she delivered her puppies. After the last was born I notice some green smear marks on the white sheet she was on. I have never noticed this with the other litters. She also had green on her fur. I washed her butt a little and changes her sheet. When I was washing her I notice what looks like a cord hanging out of her. I started to pull a little and then thought that might not be the best idea. I called and my vet is not available today. Our temperatures are very low today and if I can help it I really don't want to take her out. Do you think I should get her to a vet? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Tauni |

| Most likely what you are seeing is the afterbirth its ok to pull it out so she don't get a infection from it

| i know u asked for a breeders advice, i am not one, but from what i've read on this forum green is a bad sign. and if something is hanging out of her, i would take her to the vet. good luck!

| I am surprised that you haven't seen green before it is normal for them when giving birth

| Are all 5 placentas accounted for? If it stays inside the mom, she can get very sick. It's ok to pull it out. If all 5 didn't come out, the vet gives a shot.
