| Help with feeding puppies hi, we have a littler of puppies, born on Dec 5th and all six are doing great. I have just started supplementing thier diet with powder goats milk. I feed them with the seringe and they eat real good. My question is when do you start giving them the formula in a saucer. When do you start giving them puppy food. My vet has recommended the Royal Canine puppy food. I also give this to moma and she has terrible gas. I tried a can of Science Diet puppy food, due to vets office being closed before I got more food. She didn't have the gas on Science Diet. Whats your thoughts and experience with this. The vet also wants to worm them this week, your thoughts on this please. Thanks Sharon. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I started giving it to mine at 4 weeks. I put milk in a saucer but also ground up puppy food mixed with goats milk. They made a mess out of it for the first week learning but they caught on. Don't know about the food your feeding. I feed Call of the Wild kibble for mom and pups. I feed Chicken soup puppy wet food. I don't recommend changing food to many times right now it might upset her stomach. On the worming you may just want to take a stool sample into the vet to check for worms. If they don't have them no need to worm.

There is Mylacon that you can purchase at any pharmacy....one or 2 drops on mom's tongue is all that is needed to help with the gas.....

| Thank you for the replys, they are most helpful. I don't know how you breeders do it. It took 24/7 care, if I wasn't checking on the puppies, I was half in the kennel hand feeding mom. She wasn't eating very well so every 2 hours I would feed her and every hour giving her water. Raising a litter of puppies is alot of work, you have my upmost respect. Sharon |
