| How old does my male have to be in order to stud? I have a seven month old AKC male yorkie and he is showing signs of wanting to breed. Is he old enough to stud? |

| Your male may be capable of breeding (tying with a female) but most likely his sperm count is still low. You really need to do a lot of research before you consider using him for breeding. The prime breeding age for males is 18 months to 4 years. |
