| and now there are 2....... This is an update to the thread lost 2 and doing all I can. Today at 5pm the tiny guy I named baby chicken died. He was 3 weeks old today. He had seemed fine the last few days. Eating very well and he gained weight yesterday. From 3.9 to 4.1 and this morning we all did the happy dance because his little eyes were cracked open. He ate a few hours ago and still had a big belly. I don't mean to add to much info but be wasn't cold or anything else... nothing, no sign and placed on the scale he was 4.3 ounces. HE GAINED, He gained and his eyes were opening and he's dead. I am so angry and so sad. That baby didn't deserve to die, he lived for THREE dammed weeks. tell me it's part of being a breeder but I can't accept that. He was a living, breathing, beautiful baby boy and he now has to be buried. and I brought them here. |

| I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to loose a pup, no matter how old they are. He was so so tiny for being 3 weeks old. Are there any other surviving pups? |

| I'm very sorry for your loss. Yes, breeding can rip your heart out. And it's really hard to take when they are several weeks along, everything seem to be going fine, they are gaining weigh and then all the sudden they die. We are left hanging with the question WHY ? |

One girl- she has stayed at 4.4 oz for 2 weeks. At birth she was the second largest puppy. Tonight she is 4.7oz and I am so afraid she will follow her brother One boy, Nurses well. No feedings by us. 9oz!! He seems very healthy but he also had reflux at birth. Thats all. Just 2 of 5.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I am sorry. I don't know why it happens. I know I had a litter of 2 last year that I lost 1at birth the other was a little over 2 weeks and he had finally gained weight. I was so happy.. then he went down hill and died in the next 12 hours. I always wondered why..he fought so hard but I think their must have been wrong with his insides that I couldn't see.

I think that's what happened to this little boy. I think their was something wrong with him that I couldn't see. The vet couldn't find it either but he was too small for even a simple blood test. He looked just like my Simon. He was beautiful.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | my vet couldn't find anything wrong with my boy either. We couldn't even take his temp he was so small. I had been tube feeding him and he didnt gain an ounce but wasn't losing until that day . I was so happy I bet the neighbors heard me. Then it all fell apart so fast. Sometimes I regret even tube feeding him and keeping him alive. I felt all along he wound't make it but I just had to try.. I couldn't give up on him. Mom didn't have any milk at all but she would lay with him and snuggle. I noticed a couple days before she started covering him up with the blanket. I think she knew from the start. Sometimes I wonder if that is why she never had milk.
