| Labor getting hard and heavy(Help) need to know how long I should let her push since the pups were big ,before I take her to the vet. Every 5 minutes she is pushing now 30 minutes, push 3 times then stops. How long should I give her |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | 1 hour 45 minutes hard pushing then I would be on my way to the vet...make sure no green discharge if so straight to the vet.

| They usually have them within an hour once the hard labor starts. When they are in hard labor the contractions are usually a minute apart or less. Are you feeling any bulge yet? |

| No bulge yet and she is still pushing and no water is broke. She is pushing every 3 minutes are so it seems. |

Yep! Put on a surgical glove, coat a finger with KY Jelly, and gently insert your finger into her vaginal opening, See if you can feel a puppy. At the same time gently move your finger around "this is called feathering" It should get her to get those contractions going harder and her pushing.

| Vaseline is not good. Too much bacteria. I guess if that's all you have......in a pinch.
