| Female in heat...question......... We have a 1 1/2 year old female that is in heat. Went into heat last Weds. We have a male here that has been bred 2 times before, so experienced. He's been here since yesterday afternoon. They have not connected yet. He's tried and tried, but seems to miss the area, going below it. Should I keep having them try, or have I given them enough time? I don't want to give up, but I'm frustrated that they have connected yet. We have bred our 3 year old twice, both times successful. I can't figure out what's up this time around. Any advice? Any suggestions? I could use some. Thanks! BTW, they are they same size. The male is 5 lbs and the female is 6 lbs, so height shouldn't be a prob. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | some dogs need a little help sometimes. Gracie just bred with Tyson and he needed help. In fact, he won't breed without Paula there to assist them. She's a newbie, right? you may have to help them out.

| How???? How do you help? I've held her still, because she's a bit snippy to him at first. I think she's nervous. She's really swelled and stuff. So, what else can I do to help? |

| Our first time with zoe we kept holding her to....it got quite frustrating! We were told around the 10th day she would be ready...well after the 12th we thought we had missed our chance...her swelling was almost gone...well on the 13th day.....at 11:00 at night we were outside with 20 people over for a swimming party...about 6 of those were kids( talk about sex education) they decided it was time....but when Max would try something zoe would yip and run away but come right back to him....so my mom held her so Max could do his thing....and like I said the next day they did it all on their own...Something my kids are my neice and nephews or my mom will ever forget!! |
