| YTCA Breeders... Just wondering... I was just looking on the YTCA website at the breeders list and I noticed that only a few have their names registered. Why is that? I mean why wouldn't everyone want their names registered so that no on could come along years from now and use it?

There are certain rules and regulations that must be followed to register your Kennel Name with AKC....certain amount of litters in a given time.....Cost is also not cheap...... As far as anyone else using your kennel name....you can register a used kennel name with a different breed. In addition AKC has input to the Kennel used. Once a Kennel is established (unregistered or not) Most people know not to use it. Have you ever heard of anyone else using Pastoral, or Rothby or This Time.....of Doreen Hubbard's Yorkboro has been registered forever and a day. With Roberta's passing....she left it in her will that the Rothby line is to be ceased and discontinued.....sad but, no more Rotby.

Thanks Mary. I was just talking to Mary Ann about continuing lines... what a shame that none of her immediate family or close relatives were interested enough to continue her work. It really is sad that these foundation lines will soon be gone.

Most of our kids think we're crazy for doing this......I think you have to be a bit crazy to do it.
