| Another Question...Sorry I was wondering when should I have the puppies tails docked and dewclaws removed? I have also heard of tapeing the ears so they stand up. How and when do I do this? I am sorry for all the questions I am just new to all this. All help is greatly appricated. Thanks, Shelly P. |

| Tails and Declaw should be done within three days of birth.... Ears wait on most will stand on their own. You may have to shave the ears later to help them stand, but not for about 6 weeks. Most of my puppies ear come up on their own so I don't get in any rush on those.....

| OH no. Today they are 4 days old. Can I still get them done or is it too late? Shelly P. |

Ask your Vet, I'm sure today is fine. The ears, if they don't stand up on their own at 8 - 10 weeks then a little help doesn't hurt. Shaving the hair of the back of the ears, taping etc. But wait for now, their still little.

In my opinion, I'm not sure. It seems like they feel something. Yesterday, Monday Lily's pups had their tails and dew claws removed. After Lily feed them, they were fine. Just keep an eye on them for today. Sometimes the Mommy tries to pull the stitches. A bit of blood can be too much for a little pup. Make sure they don't bleed. Good luck

| Pups are doing good The puppies are doing fine now. They did bleed and whine for about 30 min. I felt like such a mean mommy. I regreted doing it after I heard them crying. They are fine now though. So far mom hasn't messed with their stitches. How long will the stitches stay in? They look so much different without their tails. Thanks everyone for the info. Shelly P. |

| My Vet takes the stitches out in 10 days. Did you have their Dew Claws removed too?

| I found out they are disolveable stitches. How long does it normally take before they go away? Yes, I also had their dewclaws removed. The puppies seem fine today no whining or bleeding!!! Shelly |
