| Is milk o.k. For pregnant female? Hi guys, I have a question. My female is pregnant and the last time she was pregnant I gave her the esbilac with her calcium crushed in it. BUT this time she is refusing to drink the esbilac. I did give her some 2% milk a little watery with the crushed calcium and she drank it. Is 2% milk o.k. for pregnant yorkies? I only gave it to her once, But she wont drink the esbilac this time. She loves sour cream not cottage cheese. Her taste buds have changed COMPLETELY! She dont like chicken breast, she loves turkey this time. I could really use some advice, she is totally opposite from last time. I really value your guys advice, you helped me thru the last litter, I know your advice will see me thru this one. THANKS IN ADVANCE |

| I thought calcium was supposed to be given during and after whelping... not while they are pregnant. I don't breed Tatum (our Yorkie) but we just had a litter with our Australian Shepherd and if I remember right, my mentor said calcium during and after whelping. Breeders??

What are some of the good things I can give her to eat and drink? She use to eat chicken breast with chicken broth now she wont eat it? Any suggestions. Oh and forget about her eating dod food or puppy food, she wont have it. hahaahaha. ANy information that you can give me I would appreciate it. |

I just recently had 2 girls pregnant at the same time, both went off food...they wanted nothing, I resorted to spoon feeding them. It even took a couple of weeks after they had their pups for them to eat readily. Now they're eating 5 meals a day with snacks such as whelping pudding, goats milk with egg and karo syrup, cottage cheese. You name it they are eating it. Never, never give your girl calcium tablets prior to whelping.....
