It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | it's been 2 Hours I have a female welping now...her first was at 6:51 am the next right after at 7:05am...it has now been over 2 hours and no more pups. The vet said xray showed 4 pups. She is NOT in destress and seems happy cleaning the first two pups. She is resting now. should I be worried?

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | may be ok. She seems to be pushing a little when I just checked her. Not hard pushing just small flexes. How long before I begin to freak and call vet. She has not had any trouble with previous litters. This is her third litter. First was 2 pups. 2nd litter was 5 pups...all girls btw! Yeah Lacie I have so far two healthly boys from this one. One is 3.6 oz (100g) and the other is 3.2 oz (90g). advice?? Anyone??

YT 1000 Club Member | Congrats on the first two boys so far. I would say if she isn't in distress I wouldn't worry. But I would call the vet and give them a heads up. They may want you to bring her in.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | UPDATE: girl pup born at 9:02 am 3.0 oz (85g) worried: had a green sack around it. I took the sack off and did not let mom eat it. I have removed two from her so far (she gobbled one) Pup seems ok, not as active as first two, but crying and moving. Any advice. this has never happened to us before.

| May have been in canal too long. if the final pup does not present soon, call vet. My two females have both had to have c-sections. |

| Congrats of five live babies! Don't worry about her eating the sacks. I have seen green sacks before and dogs have eaten them. During the first few hours watch to make sure that all puppies get started eating. Especially important if one is weaker than others. Also, with a larger litter like this one, make sure all babies get a equal share of milk. These are little dogs and not that many teats. Sometimes the stronger ones push the weaker away. |

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | thank you Lindesu, She had 5 last time and we did lose one, but due to water on brain. Don't see any signs of that this time. All five seem ok. mom cleaning. Sure hope she is done. I did have to supplement feed one of her last pups but she was only 2 oz at birth with the siblings pushing her away. Glad to say that little girl is now doing fine. She is only 2# but healthly and active (all grown up) She was hard to let go to another home. but is well loved and cared for.

| Congratulations on the new litter. I pray momma and babies do well. Her eating the placenta is okay. She might develop a little loose stools from it though. |

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | Mom and babies all doing great! Yes I was concerned about the green placentas because we've never had green before. I guess we've never gone that long between pups before to cause it to turn green. All nursing well and mom is eating everything she can. And yes I'll post pics in a day or so in the nursery section. thanks for all the help and good wishes.
