| Hmmm...not really a lot of info on the site to go by--no pedigree info and the link for the guarantee doesn't seem to be working. A few things I noted though. She is breeding non-standard Yorkies with no apparent goal of producing does that meet the breed standard. Not a good sign, IMO. Also, she states that 'Yorkies come in all sizes' and gives a size description: Tiny 2-3.5 lb Small 4-5.5 lb Med 6-7 lb Large 8-10 lb Yorkies should not "come in all sizes" and breeders should certainly not be trying purposely to produce extremely "tiny" or "large" dogs. Like I said, not much info to go on, but I would suggest that you explore further options. Some of what is on her site is questionable and IMO, there is no reason to settle when there are reputable breeders out there. |

| I see you live in Ontario, CA. You just happen to live in the same area with a great breeder, Betty Ann Durrer of Durrer Yorkshire Terriers. Here's her website: Durrer Yorkshire Terriers

| I'm not sure if its too late for you but I figured I'd reply to this post since my 2nd and 3rd yorkies are from this breeder. I think she is absolutely wonderful. I have the complete pedigree info for my pups. They are healthy and have great temperments. This breeder is very organized and caring. She spent a lot of time with me going over everything from hypoglycemia to grooming. She's even helping me learn to groom my pups as well as the adult Yorkie I already had. Since I already had a yorkie, I had done a lot of research myself previously but I've still learned a lot from her. I would say not to judge a breeder based on a website. I think its best to go and see for yourself, if thats possible. Feel free to PM with any questions. Good luck on your Yorkie search! Joanne *Annabelle* *Bailey* *Cinnamon* |

My Razzle Dazzle just won his class 12-18 mths at the Canadian National Specialty today. You can go to her website and see her health guarantees and her philosophy of breeding. One of her bitches 11 months old took Best Puppy in Specialty and Winners Bitch. Ilona also works her dogs in agility, obedience, and loves them so well. She is a very supportive breeder always willing to answer questions, and help you to get and keep going the "right" way with your furbaby. Best of Luck in your Search Gail

Hello, If you don't know me, why be so quick to judge? Call me my # is on my web page. Yorkies do come is different sizes ...... can you say every yorkie you had was 5 lbs or all were 7lbs no I didn't think so .... I'm just trying to be honest here. I don't try to breed tiny or large dogs. and as far as displaying all my info on my web page that someone could possibly use for their own purpose I don't think so..... if someone wants to call me and ask about my dogs to get more info I'll gladly spend the time with them and help in any way I can. and I do guarentee my pups I have a contract anyone can request of copy of it. and I will help people with any issue they may have at any age of the dogs life I would question a person who is quick to judge others without reason....are you a reputable breeder ???? remember what you say about others with out facts counts too !!!!

| Yes, you are right. Sadly, they do. These days you run across Yorkies anywhere from 2 lbs to 20! A result of not breeding to adhere to the standard of 7lb max. Quote:
People come on here all the time asking for others to tell them what they think about various breeders based on the info provided on their site. And members here look at it and tell them anything they see that they think is questionable. No where did I say you were a horrible breeder, just that there was something there that IMO, should be questioned further. Maybe this would be a good time/place for you to offer your explanation of anything that I or others had concerns about.

| Whilst not wishing to step on anyones toes, I personally wouldn't say adhering to a (fairly recent?/) 7 Lb 'standard' is that laudable either......... Would that be a 'kennel club' standard then?? |

| AKC does not say 4 to 7 pounds..where do you see this written? A Yorkie is not to exceed 7 pounds..I showed a 3 pound male and he did well.. |

| I know I am being difficult, but I cannot stand a breeder who uses a coke can or dollar bill in a photo of their puppies...it is so commerical IMO. It gives me the impression the breeder concentrates purely on size...Yorkies should not be listed according to size like shoes... |
