| puppy shakes can anybody give me all the reasons why puppies shake. I know if they are cold, scared but not sure why else. Also, when she does nurse off of momma her nose sounds congested but when she doesn't she sounds fine. My 5 1/2 week old puppy shakes, not always but today she was shaking and I get worried about hypoglycemia. She wouldn't eat but she very well may not have been hungry, we are in the beggining stages of the weaning process and I want to make sure they eat enough. I weigh both my babies twice a day and they either stay the same or gain like a oz or two. Thank you for any help you can give me.

| Just keep an eye on the litter very closely as hypoglycemia can be dangerous. There are so many reasons but for now you should keep a closed eye on them and if your "guts" tell you just make a vet visit. It is very hard to give advice like this without seen the puppy and if there is nothing you will go crazy thinking of so many possibilities . XOXO

| Hy, I would then tell you do take her for a vet visit, if she is congested and God forbid is an infection, pneumonia or something you can start her on antibiotics. If mom has a lot of milk sometimes the puppies can not keep up with the flow and it comes back from the nose, if the puppy inhale milk in can go into the lungs and that can cause pneumonia. I have never seen cleft palate, but i know you can see the inside of the mouth, but i do not believe it would explain the shaking. other reasons would be neurological or problems on the way she is processing her food. I do not want to be adding possibilities to your head, i know you must be already worried a lot. People here give great advice, but i would expect already more answerings to this thread. Your descriptions of this shaking does not bring to my mind anything familiar ... For your peace of mind i would call a vet visit. I know it sounds frustrating to hear this advice, but somethings you better off take it out of your head sooner than later, and again, if God forbid it is something that can be treated, better start sooner than later. Blessings. XOXO

I know its not mom she has stopped feeding them and I am feeding them solid food only and at times both lady and rebel eat well and other's not so much. they have both lost a little weight, Lady only.01 oz and Rebel .03 but the seem to gain and lose. I will also bring this up at the vet. Thank you, Shannon

| Just as i assumed, you are one worried momma ! It will be better for you , trust me. You will get it out of your mind and rest. I am so sorry you are having so many issues with this litter. It is all part of the breeding... somehow the great things gives us strength to keep going ! Hope you will have great news and all will be fine ! Since you are going to the vet, i would go ahead and buy some "a/d" or "recovery ", A/d is better, it is a canned food very soft and delicious .... for them... kkk ... it makes them put weight fast and it is easy to digest, you can mix with the food you are giving. a couple cans go a long way, it is a rich food for post operative situations, i wean the puppies with it if we have a larger litter or i want the puppies to put a little weight faster after they are weaned. you can leave it in the fridge after open for a couple days. I wish you all the best in your vet visit and hopefully this will be all figured out and you will have a peaceful great night of sleep !!!!! XOXO

I really am worried, and I prayed last night that she will be ok and am still hoping. Thing is you would never now something or anything is wrong, she was playing with her brother this morning and bitting and growling. I looked in her mouth yesterday and really could not see any difference between her and her brother but then again I have no idea what I am looking for either. I will let you know how she makes out in the meantime a bunch a prayers for little ladies treasure would help.
