| Are month old pups teething? Do they need toys? It seems like our month old pups are starting to gnaw on everything including our fingers and eachother. Do they need teething toys already? What are the best toys for new pups?

| When my pups are that age I just put little soft toys in with them and also I will get a cow ear and cut it into little strips. When they get a little older I will give them a cow hoof to carry around and gnaw. The cow ears last a long time and do not upset their tummies like rawhide chews do. I also will just take a old sock and tie it into a knot and let them play with that. |

| They have some great puppy toys on the market and I just went out today and bought a bunch of new ones for my 4 week old litter. They are just getting to that fun stage where they chew and rough house with each other!

You'll find mom a bit reluctant to nurse them at this stage....those lil milk teeth are sharp.

Those cow ears have bacteria in them. C.E.T dental chewies are much better.

| I have been using the cow ears and hooves for about 3 or 4 years and have not had any problems. I have used the C.E.T. dental chews in the past and if I remember correctly some of mine got sick from them. I might try them again and see how it goes. It is hard to know what to do anymore. I hear everyone bragging about bully sticks but I am very leery of them. |

| We gave our babies some baby teething toys, and they love them. They will never break or chew them apart, so they are totally safe, and made for teething. Their favorite is one from Discovery Toys! http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/esu...roduct_id=1020 Last edited by tammys; 07-30-2009 at 08:37 PM. |
