| Tail docking question Does anyone know, (silly question, I know someone has to know, lol) did the first AKC standard ( when first Yorkshire Terrier was registered with the American Kennel Club in 1878) call for docking the tail? Or was the standard changed to include it at some point? Thanks if anyone can point me in the direction of an answer

| Here is an interesting article on the history of the breed: History of the Yorkshire Terrier by Joan Gordon It looks like the early pictures of the yorkies had tails. In 1890 the standard did call for a tail docked to medium length. |

| Thanks so much for the link It 's still hard though, to tell by the pics if they had docked tails when they were accepted initially into the AKC. Just wondering if the standard was changed to include this after their first acceptance.
