| www.littlebreeds.com located in Northern Virginia? I'm constantly on the look out for a breeder that I can trust when I am ready to purchase my next Yorkie. Has anyone had any experience(s) with www.littlebreeds.com? I can see that there are multiple breeds that are bred, which I've come to learn isn't good thing. No contract that I can see... Maybe I've answered my own question? hehe It would still be informative to know if anyone has had/heard anything good and/or bad about this site/breeder. I've e-mailed the point of contact to see if I would be able to come to the property to view the pup and to see the parents. I guess the answer to that question will let me know if it's a trustworthy place or not. Thanks! |

| visiting breeders homes Being able to visit the breeder's home is not always the gold standard anymore. In recent years, there has been one breeder killed, several held at gunpoint, a number of breeders robbed and dogs stolen and all by people claiming to be puppy buyers. I personally no longer allow anyone to come to my home. I go to theirs or meet them in a neutral place. I feel that my first responsibility is to my family and my dogs to keep them safe. I understand wanting to know that the puppies were raised well, but I think there are other ways to determine that. Getting to know the breeder, seeing how he/she responds to your questions, seeing what kind of questions they ask you for example. Also a good health guarantee for the puppy. If it is a show breeder, there should be a track record for their dogs as well. JMO Ruth |

Sorry, OP, didn't mean to change the subject of your thread. I'm not familiar with the "breeder" you've mentioned, but imo...run!!! You are looking for a reputable breeder, and as you've said, you've already answered your own questions.

| I have a relative who has had a bad experience with them. Is there anyone else who may have contacted or bought a puppy from them? Possibly, we could share experiences with them. Quote:

I guess our "own" breed is not been always getting better. So unfortunate but you are right. you have to watch out for your family first. And your life. What society is coming to? XOXO

| The site you referenced is not one specific breeder's site--it is advertising for several breeders working with various breeds of dogs. I particularly found it humerous that they made a point to to say that they produce quality "hybrid dogs...not mutts". Sorry, but I crack up anytime anyone refers to their dog as a "hybrid"--I mean really, who are you trying to fool. In any event, you already have your doubts about the site. That should tell you something--follow your gut. IMO, there is no reason to take a chance on a site/breeder you are doubtful of when there are reputable breeders out there you could turn to instead. |

| www.pinehavenyorkies.com/ Is where I got Madison. They are located in Fredericksburg Virginia. She is Awesome! I actually got Madison from her because she was no longer going to breed her and wanted her to have a "pet home" where she would be spoiled. She just didnt have time to give her all the attention she deserved. So I would talk with her or check out her website. Hope this helps!
