| Quality of life with Hydrocephalus My 6 week old Yorkie was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. She looked different the day she was born. She had a Mohawk. Her head wasn't the same. As time went on her development was slow. What is the quality of life for a dog with hydrocephalus? With stunts and without stunts? Meds? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I need help deciding what to do. The vet told me that I’ll know when it is time to put her down. He did not prescribe Prednisone, Omeprazole, or Lasix. He did give me a neurologists phone number, but told me I not obligated to call him. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Unfortunately her prognosis isn't very good. I'm so very sorry.

| Your baby's hydrocephalus looks to be quite large. I had a puppy with it, but it wasn't quite as bad. She was on prednisone and Metacam for quite a while. She did go on to make a full recovery and her head did eventually close. I'm surprised that your vet didn't want to put her on anything.

| We had a surrender come into our rescue with this same thing. The vet told us that there wasn't much they could do. He didn't prescribe anything either. Rocco is 15 months old and the cutest little thing. |
