| Sounds like it is. I would keep an eye on her. Don't stare at her because she can actually stop her labor. You just want to check on her every now and then until everything really ramps up. Do you have a whelping box for her? |

| She could still hold out a while for you and you could see more signs, but then again she could just start pushing all of a sudden (which is what my dog did), very soon for you. Keep things quiet aroung the house and watch her w/out letting her realize your watching, every dog is different. Good Luck with a safe whelp.

| ok she is in her box(one of those dog pop-up boxes) and i think she may be having contractions. she strains a little but its real short and she does that like 3 times one right the other and it stops for a little while then she will do it all over gain. not too sure what contractions are like in dogs.do they start like that and then progress? also when i got her from under the couch she had a small amt. poop on her back. |

| I would put her in her whelping box to make sure she doesnt go under the bed or couch, you need to be there watching her just in case she needs your help and chances are she will. Good Luck, let us know how she is doing

| Sounds like she is in labor. Contractions look like they are straining to go poop. You will know when she is having them because there's just no denying them. Has her water broken yet? |

| If she is throwing her head back and straining, she is pushing, sometimes you dont see the water sac, can you see anything coming out at all. Is she panting heavy also?
