Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Testing for Studs?? I'm sure it sounds silly, but i wanted to know what tests people generally do for the stud? My male is still way too young IMO to breed, but that gives us plenty of time to test, and make sure that is something we would want to do! I know there needs to be some genetic, and std testing, but i can not recall the names off hand... We also want to show him after his coat comes back in (i kinda buzzed him for the summer, it gets HOT here), that is IF he passes the medical testing. Anyways, any info y'all have would be great! We want to make sure he is in tip top condition before making a choice

| I would have him evaluated at dog shows first before I bred him. Also, you need to get tests done for slipping patellas, leggs perthes, liver shunts, collapsing trachea, open fontanel and heart murmers.

Other than those you listed, are there any other tests you would suggest? I want to make sure there is nothing that he would pass on to any pups!! Health is my #1 thing!! Yes, Hunter in the Avatar (He's been re-named to Thom though). He's quite pale, which also is a concern. We are waiting for him to grow, see how his coat turns out, and of course make sure he's a healthy one!
